I saw these 2 side tables at TJMaxx/Homegoods last night for $49.99 each. I’m thinking they would look nice as bedside tables.
The tops of the tables are black glass. I think the design is so interesting… but it also looks like a tiny circus cage. Haha!
Do you think it would be a good fit?
Edit: They’re similar to these tables here but in all black instead of chrome.
Current bedroom setup (I apologize for re-using this photo again but my bedroom hasn’t changed for a long time…)
Please help! Any opinions/comments are appreciated 🙂

I think it would go really nicely!

They’re pretty, but I’m unsure – they seem like they might be less steady than your current tables, especially on carpet. It would probably depend on how heavy they are?
Also, if you keep your current lamps, it might not look as nice as the current setup — too many circles and too much metal compared to what you’ve got now?
Maybe buy, try, and return if it doesn’t work? 🙂

I agree with you about the circles… lots of round shapes going on there. Hmm. Also, storage in the future may be an issue.

Are they really big? Will you be putting them underneath the lamps?

Mmm I’d say probably a little less than 24″ in diameter. Yup that’s where the lamps would go if I decide to get them

I do agree that they are unique but storage may be a problem 🙂

$49.99/ea is a little steep, no? But it definitely is unique and with your gold lamps on top, it would look so pretty! Have you tried vintage hunting? After visiting the Rose Bowl flea market in LA, I feel so determined to find a really one-of-a-kind piece that no one else will ever have! >:P

It *is* a bit steep…but I found the unique shape striking. The price and whether they would work stopped me from buying them off the bat. I haven’t gone to a flea market (closest one to me is Alameda, near Oakland) in a while.. I’m waiting until the weather is warmer until I venture out there 😀 excited to go back though!!

You’re around my hometown of San Jose! 🙂 (Saw that link about your bf’s band too, wayyy cool!).
I’m not familiar with TJMAXX’s return policy, but I’m definitely a buy-and-see-if-it-works-at-home type of person, with all my purchases. Your bedroom looks great right now too, btw! I love the paintings (prints?)!

The paintings are DIY (2 canvases from Michaels during a “Buy one get one for 1 cent” sale. Using some cheap acrylic paints and a cheap plastic brush set) Unashamed to say that I used this as my inspiration: http://pinterest.com/pin/124412008425601245/ -> No idea where this painting is from.

and if you get sick of them, you could always put “table cloths” on top of them and hide stuff underneath/inside the cage lol 🙂

Hi!
I think they are quite nice and might actually lighten up your bedroom by raising your lamps a little (make it a bit less bottom-heavy). Also, I think the black glass could be a cool reflective surface for those gorgeous copper lamp bases.
Just wanted to let you know that I love your blog – I am a super fanatic personal finance geek (learnvest, savvysugar, Ramit’s blog <3) and LOVE your monthly budget recaps, so fun to look through! I'm graduating college in May and starting my big girl job in June after a trip to Europe (!!!) so your blog is such an inspiration. I definitely want to start a blog after college (when I will finally have free time!) to keep track of personal finance tips, fashion, and lifestyle writings. By the way, have you checked out The Everygirl site yet? I think you'd really like it.
Would love to be email buddies with you 🙂
