I was lucky enough to find black grosgrain ribbon at my local craft store.
Its amazing how much a couple bucks can transform a $40 shoe. Wow…I still can’t believe I found Lanvin for $40!
Soooo. There goes my clothing and shoe budget. I went to Loehmman’s today… I’m a little embarassed that I’m going overbudget but I have to be accountable on this blog, haha. Here’s what I bought:
Converse top – $11
Juicy Couture Sunnies – $32
And last but not least…..
Purple Satin Lanvin Pumps from Fall 2008 – $43
As you can tell from the runway pictures it is missing the grosgrain strap across the ankle. The shoes themselves are in impeccable condition though. I had a feeling that there was something missing because of the leather loops on the ends but I’m going to try to find some matching ribbon at the craft store tomorrow to fix it up. Otherwise I’ll leave it and just have the ribbons going across the front of the foot…. thankfully it still looks good that way. (EDIT: They’re fixed!!!)
I had difficult time deciding whether to get them or not because of the strap factor, but I don’t have ANY pumps in my shoe collection right now (I know it’s ridiculous) and I have too many black shoes. Plus, they’re a classic shape, the toe isn’t too pointy, they fit me perfectly….. and c’mon its LANVIN. For $43. (Originally $830)
Sigh. The quality of these shoes is amazing! The leather is incredibly supple and I can’t stop touching the satin.
I returned the Loeffler Randall silk epaulet top to Loehmann’s today. The clearance sale is still going on but there wasn’t much left. However, I did see this strange mop-like sweater on the racks today that I hadn’t seen yesterday. The final price was $75, originally $695. I tried it on just for kicks; the knit was very heavy and the quality of the material is incredible. And yes, I did do a few turns in it to see the dreads in action! It’s just too bad it just looks like a dirty mop! (89% of Fabsugar readers HATE IT) If it were in gray with less dread detail (like the Intermix one below) perhaps I would reconsider, but the $75 price tag is still too high for me.
Loehmann’s regularly sends me emails (maybe a little bit TOO much actually) and I tend to delete them as soon as I see them. But… I got an email yesterday about their clearance blowout sale starting today.
The last time I went to their clearance blowout sale I scored a Dolce and Gabanna leopard corset tank for $10. Yes, $10!!! It was an insane deal, so I wanted to see if I could find another great deal today.
I ended up buying 6 items. All of them have the color BLACK! No surprise here. And most of the clothing has sequins. I do love me a sequined anything.
My February clothing and shoe budget has been thrown out the window. And I was doing so well too. Not.
So that’s 6 items for $99 without tax.
Unfortunately my SO thinks the $20 Loeffler Randall silk epaulet top looks like a referee jersey. (UGH. When I tried it on it reminded me of Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. label, so I thought it was okay. Sigh.) So I’ll be returning that one… it’s too bad too. I love the silk. And the original price is $225!!!
5 items for $79 then. Not bad.
I am in HEAVEN! I found these peep-toe, lace-up kidskin booties at the Loehmann’s clearance center for $15!!!! I’ve seen them before at Nordstrom Rack but they were still out of my price range.
I’m so glad I waited. 🙂 This is another pair of shoes where I had to go a full size down. Strange. I danced all night in these babies on Saturday and they were pretty comfortable!
EDIT: Apparently they are knock-off Givenchy!
