I just got back from CVS with 6 Revlon polishes in hand for only $2.09! Woo!
I know “couponing” is a pretty hot topic these days with the new TLC show. Honestly I started doing it because I was amazed at how some ladies got a whole lot of something for nothing. I’m not that extreme, but as you know, I do like pretty things but I don’t want to go broke buying it. Well this is how I did it, and now you’re going to learn too!
L to R: Passion Fruit (Scented), Cupid (Top Speed), Mad About Mango (Scented), Lilac Pastelle, Peach Smoothie (Scented), Powder Puff (Matte Suede)
After using manufacturer coupons my total was $2.09 after everything, instead of the $6 I could have spent if I didn’t have any coupons. ($1 per polish) It may be a little late for you to get this deal in time, but I will show you how right now so if a similar deal comes along at CVS, you’ll be able to nab it.
…with no coupon clipping required. 🙂
– A CVS card
– Ample time for shipping (you’ll see what I mean in a bit)
– Patience 🙂
1. Find the Deal!
I’m a lazy couponer when it comes to researching deals. I follow 2 couponing sites: coupondivas.com and couponing101.com. These two sites have coupon match-ups for most drugstores and grocery stores. If you click through to the CVS section, you’ll see the deals for the current week.
This week’s deal:
Revlon Nail Enamel – $4.99
Less: $1/1 Revlon Nail Enamel (4/10 SS)
Get Back: $4 ECB (limit 6)
Final Price: FREE!!
So for each $5 polish you will receive $4 ECB back. So normally your net cost would be $1 each. But if you had a $1 Revlon polish coupon from the April 10th Smartsource coupon ad, you’d get it for free.
I didn’t have these coupons, much less SIX of them. So now what?
2. Find matching coupons in bulk!
Ebay has many coupon sellers that clip coupons and sell multiples for a fee. (Be sure to do your research on seller ratings first.)
I searched Ebay and found those coupons… 8 coupons for $2.09.
3. Wait for them in the mail!
Order your coupons as soon as you know the deal. I bought them on Sunday and I received them Thursday (this deal ends Saturday). So when you buy coupons in bulk online, timing is important.
Once you use the coupons, you’ll receive ECB that look like this (they print out with your receipt):
This is how you “get your money back.” As long as you use it before the expiration date, that is.
There you have it! A mini haul plus a lesson in CVS couponing. You can apply this to other stores too, as long as you do your research and you learn about each store’s respective rewards programs and coupon policies.
