Supposedly we’ll be getting an early spring this year, and what embodies spring more than pastel colors?

This 4 way color gradient gives off an almost duochrome-like effect. I added a thin layer of white polish on top to diffuse the colors. This also makes the nail look like it is lit from within! :D If you don’t have any pastel polish, try using regular colors and then whitewash it with your sheer white polish. My turquoise polish was the lightest one I had on hand, but the white overlay plays it down a bit.

If the glitter & rhinestones are a bit too much for you, feel free to just do the gradient :}

NOTD: OPI Funny Bunny and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Set the Stage

What I used:

  • 1 coat of CND Sticky Base
  • 3 coats OPI Funny Bunny
  • 1 coat of Sally Hansen Xtremem Wear Set the Stage (applied with a dotting tool, one glitter piece at a time)
  • 1 coat of Seche Vite topcoat

Funny Bunny is a semi-sheer jelly white that I absolutely love.  The finish is a bit softer than a full opaque white so the effect is a little more wearable.  Funny Bunny is very pretty on its own but I wanted to spice it up a bit with some sparkle.  Yay!  At first I tried using Konad plate m79 with the Konad Gold metallic special polish on the accent finger.. but the gold didn’t show up at all.  What a waste.  So I covered it up with glitter.  Instead of layering the glitter polish straight from the bottle, I used a dotting tool to apply one glitter piece at a time… thankfully I only did one nail or it may have taken the entire day.  I think next time I’ll try this with a chunkier glitter to save time.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Ring my Shell and Spoiled Jewelry Heist

What I used:

  • 1 coat of CND Sticky Base
  • 2 coats Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Ring My Shell
  • 3 coats of Spoiled Jewelry Heist on the ring finger
  • 1 coat of Seche Vite topcoat

Ring My Shell is very difficult to photograph!  In real life the metallic sheen is more green in tone.. I think this photo by Kitty Pretty Fingers captures it better.

Jewelry Heist by Spoiled (which is part of Wet n Wild) was an impulse buy at CVS for $1.99 I believe.  I like how the colors are a muted pink and gold hex glitter with specks of smaller iridescent glitter and silver glitter.  I love glitter polishes and its nice to find an inexpensive one that has muted colors.

NOTD: Revlon Starry Pink

1 coat of CND Sticky Basecoat
1 coat of Essie French Affair
1 coat of Revlon Starry Pink
1 coat of Seche Vite Topcoat

Revlon’s Starry Pink is a sheer, milky pink with chunky & small silver glitters. You definitely need a base color with this because its so sheer.. and since I used Essie French Affair with it, it looks quite pinky-purple here. Thank you to Steph from DSK Jewelry for introducing it to me. :)

For a photo of Starry Pink by itself, go here.
